As we reach the middle of the term, students, parents and teachers come in and out for their lessons each week – a weekly routine embedded in their lives. The atmosphere is busy, yet progress is continually made as students continue to learn and be encouraged with each lesson.

Today one of our adult students, who routinely comes in smiling and cheerful, tells me that she is taking a break from her routine and going on a month long vacation to the Northern Territory and Qld! To keep her motivated to practise and remember her saxophone, Wayne, the sax teacher, tells her about the Aboriginal tribes and their instruments! She is now further excited about this trip, where she can learn from Aborigines about their unique breathing techniques used when playing the didgeridoo!

I think it’s amazing how interested people are about music, their instrument and everything that is associated with it!
