So maybe I am feeling a little more sensitive today, or a little more ‘deep’ as the weather is becoming sunnier and uplifting my rained-down winter spirits.
You may be well aware of our monthly newsletters that go out at the start of each month, informing our students and their parents about the things that are happening at the school, any interesting things we find, etc. There is a small corner on ‘Inspirational Quotes’, and every time I search for quotes to put in, I find myself getting inspired as I read them. Not only are they beneficial to our students when they practice music, but they are also applicable to every day life for everyone.
It’s a great way to really pull up your socks and kick start yourself, particularly when you are beginning to slack off near the end of the month or becoming complacent with your specific duties. I myself know that sometimes I fall into the lazy mindset, thinking such thoughts as “Ah, I’ll do it tomorrow.” or the more popular “…next time”, amongst many other thoughts.
So on an ending note, I’ll leave with one quote that was very motivational for me today.
“The question for each man to settle is not what he would do if he had means, time, influence and educational advantages; the question is what he will do with the things he has. The moment a young man ceases to dream or to bemoan his lack of opportunities and resolutely looks his conditions in the face, and resolves to change them, he lays the corner-stone of a solid and honorable success.” – Hamilton Wright Mabie
