Several students from Shine Music have their AMEB exams this Saturday and many of them have been coming in for extra lessons or longer lessons to make sure they’ve got all their pieces prepared! I would expect most of them to be stressing about it (being an exam and all!) but Daniel, who’s taking his seventh grade piano exam, and playing “Alla Turca” by Mozart, which is seven pages long, was…amazingly calm! He replied to my question “so…daniel…you nervous?” with “naaa it’s gonna be a breeze”.
For all of you who don’t know what the AMEB is, it stands for Australian Music Examination Board. They test students on their Performance, Technical Work, General Knowledge, Aural, Improvisation and Sight Reading.
Many students have found that their AMEB assessments provide them with a sense of achievement and an incentive for study towards their next goal.
So to all of you who are taking the exam this week, good luck! We’re rooting for you! 🙂
