The End of an Era

Today is officially the last day of 2010 that I will be sitting here at Shine Music School. Talking with some of the students and parents today has made me reflect on the past year and everything that has happened here! We have said (and continue to say) goodbye to many of our teachers and students, whilst new teachers and students come in to create this little circle of life here at Shine and now we have come to the ‘end’ of the circle (do circles have an end or beginning?).

There was a sad moment today when one of our very talented students had to say farewell to her teacher of 2 years, whom she had become very close with. Fran will be leaving Shine to head off on an adventure in the States, as a lead singer of a musical on a cruise ship! How exciting and we are very happy for her!

After now receiving two gifts from students (and parents) here at Shine (including a personal Christmas card from one of the students!) including the student who worries about my chocolate-as-dinner-habit-each-week and offers to go to Westfield to get me ‘real’ food . I am feeling very grateful and touched =) Thank you! Here is a little snippet of how Christmasey we are getting at Shine!
