Reminiscing 2011

There is only one more week left of Term 4, which is only made more exciting by it being the last week of the YEAR 2011! This year has been a long, steady year with much to reminisce on.

Looking back at Shine throughout 2011 – we have progressed enormously with our renovations expanding our school from four rooms to six, our new air conditioning unit and our 24/7 access to the toilet! We have also farewelled a few of our ‘older’ (not by age) teachers who set off to advance their lives either by marriage or career, but we have welcomed our new and extremely well-experienced teachers including a new instrument – the beautiful and enchanting Cello! Finally, we have welcomed a huge amount of new students this year, including our 4 year old violin student, Deveash, who submitted this Christmas colouring-in for our Stardom Newsletter competition!

Our students have performed at a larger range of contexts throughout this year as well, from Lexus Parramatta’s new car opening, a Red Cross Charity Event, the Yates Avenue School Fete and even the Greystanes Public School Spring Fair!

The Annual Shine Music Charity Concert was a success, as per usual, with our students of all ages getting up to perform for Westmead Children’s Hospital! Stay tuned on our Facebook page for more pictures from the concert!
